The Perfect Monday

At The Space Burston

Sometimes the best way to understand a place is to hear from someone who has actually spent the day there.

When Gabriella from Coastal Media came to one of our Wellness Mornings for small business owners, she was planning to head home afterwards.

Instead, she stayed.

She had lunch, went for a walk, booked one of our private rooms for a video call, settled into the café co-working space and worked through the afternoon.

And, as she put it, she had “one of the most productive afternoons” she’d had in ages.

We love this because, in many ways, this is exactly what we hoped The Space would become.

Come for the morning.
Stay for the day.

The Space was created around a simple idea: working for yourself doesn’t have to mean working by yourself — and it doesn’t have to mean being stuck at home, in a noisy café or in an expensive office.

You might come for a yoga class.

You might book a room to see a client.

You might need somewhere quiet for a Zoom call.

You might simply want to get out of the house and have a few uninterrupted hours to actually get some work done.

Or perhaps you want all of those things in one day.

That’s what makes The Space different.

Co-working, without the chaos

One of the things Gabriella particularly picked up on was our approach to co-working.

The café space is designed for focused work. It’s calm, limited in numbers and deliberately not the kind of co-working environment where you’re surrounded by endless phone calls and video meetings.

If you need to take a call, meet a client or have a confidential conversation, you can simply book one of our private rooms.

So you get the best of both worlds: the connection and energy of being around other people, with the privacy and focus you need when you need it.

And then there’s the countryside…

We’re very lucky to be here in Burston.

When you’ve been staring at your screen for a couple of hours, you can step outside and within minutes be walking through the Norfolk countryside.

A proper walk. Fresh air. Space to think.

Sometimes that’s all it takes to return to your desk with a completely different perspective.

A space designed by small business owners, for small business owners

The Space wasn’t created from a business plan telling us what we thought other people needed.

It came from our own experience of working for ourselves.

We wanted somewhere calm to work. Somewhere we could meet clients without committing to an expensive permanent office. Somewhere that felt professional but also welcoming. Somewhere you could come for an hour, a morning, a day — or become part of the community.

And that’s what we’re continuing to build.

A place where independent businesses, freelancers, practitioners and people working remotely can come together, work well and still have space to breathe.

So, what does a day at The Space look like?

It could look a little like Gabriella’s Monday:

9.30am — Wellness Morning
11am —
Coffee, conversation and community
12pm —
Lunch
1pm —
Focused co-working
2pm —
Private room for a client call
3pm —
A walk through the countryside
4pm —
Head home feeling like you’ve actually had a productive day

Or it could look completely different.

That’s the beauty of The Space.

You can use it in the way that works for you.

We’re here for the people who need somewhere to work, somewhere to meet, somewhere to teach, somewhere to see clients — or simply somewhere to pause.

And if you’re curious about what it’s actually like to spend a day here, we think Gabriella says it better than we could.
