Creating Space for Good

Introducing Our Community Impact Membership

There are seasons in life that invite us to slow down and think a little differently.

Lately, we've found ourselves reflecting on what it means to run a business with purpose. Not simply as a place to work or a way to make a living, but as something that can contribute, in its own small way, to the world around us.

As parents of young children and small business owners, life often feels wonderfully full. Between family, work and all the moving pieces that come with both, there isn't always the time to volunteer, start new projects or give back in the ways we sometimes imagine we might.

But we've been asking ourselves an important question:

How can we do a little more good with what we already have?

The Power of One Person

Recently, we lost someone very dear to us.

Someone whose life was a beautiful reminder that one person can create an extraordinary ripple of kindness and positive change.

She dedicated her life to supporting others, bringing comfort, wisdom and encouragement to so many people. She founded organisations that continue to help families and communities, and she had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, supported and valued.

Perhaps what inspired us most wasn't simply all that she did, but the way she lived.

She showed us that doing good doesn't always require grand gestures. Sometimes it's about using the gifts, skills and resources we already have and offering them in service of others.

Her example has quietly stayed with us.

And it led us to ask ourselves what that might look like here at The Space.

Using What We Have

The Space was created to be somewhere calm, welcoming and supportive.

A place where people can gather, work, teach, create, connect and grow.

And so we began wondering whether our space itself could become a small way of supporting organisations that are already doing incredible things in our communities.

Charities and community organisations often achieve extraordinary things with very limited resources.

They support people through some of life's most difficult moments. They create opportunities, build connections and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Yet finding affordable, welcoming places to meet, work or host events can sometimes be a challenge.

We'd love to help change that, even in a small way.

Introducing Our Community Impact Membership

We're delighted to be introducing a new initiative for registered charities and community interest organisations.

A Community Impact Membership, offering 50% reduced room hire for one regular booking per week (up to one full day or equivalent hours), subject to availability.

Our hope is that this will make it a little easier for organisations doing good work to access beautiful, professional spaces where they can continue supporting others.

At the same time, we hope it creates new connections and opportunities to welcome more purpose-led organisations into our community.

Because we believe that when good people come together, wonderful things happen.

A Small Ripple

We know that one discounted room booking won't change the world.

But perhaps it can become part of something bigger:

  • A meeting that sparks a new idea.

  • A support group that helps someone feel less alone.

  • A training session that empowers others.

  • A gathering that creates new connections.

Sometimes the smallest acts create ripples we could never have imagined.

And perhaps that's one of the most beautiful things about community.

An Invitation

If you're part of a registered charity or community interest organisation and think The Space could support the work you do, we'd love to hear from you.

To learn more about our Community Impact Membership and explore the different ways to work from The Space, including our resident, class host, co-working and ad hoc memberships, please visit our website.

Because whilst we may not all have the time to change the world in big ways, we can each do something with what we have.

And for us, that starts by opening our doors a little wider.

With love,
Lisa & Izzy
